Ultrafiltration technology can be used for drug separation and purification, pyrogen removal, and sterilization, especially in the separation and extraction of antibiotics and vitamins. Some scholars have proposed an ultrafiltration/extraction method that fundamentally solves the emulsification problem in antibiotic extraction, improving extraction yield and product quality.
Currently, activated carbon adsorption is commonly used to remove pyrogens during the preparation of ginsenoside injections. Ultrafiltration, on the other hand, effectively removes pyrogens during the preparation of ginsenoside injections, while also reducing the loss of total ginsenosides. It is simple, reliable, and effective. Ultrafiltration technology has also been used to remove bacterial endotoxins generated during rabies vaccine production, resulting in less antigen loss and sample enrichment, thus meeting the requirements for vaccine production.
