75 Gpd RO Membrane for Household Water

75 Gpd RO Membrane for Household Water

The 75 GPD RO membrane for household water delivers 75 gallons (284 liters) per day – enough for a family of 4‑6 people – using standard tap pressure of 55‑65 psi with no booster pump required. It fits directly into any standard 1812 membrane housing, making it a drop‑in replacement for aging 50‑75 GPD units.

Product Details

Unlike larger membranes that force higher waste water ratios, the 75 GPD RO membrane for household water uses a specially balanced feed spacer thickness (28 mil) that achieves a typical permeate‑to‑concentrate ratio of 1:3 under 60 psi. This yields about 1.5 gallons of waste per gallon of clean water – lower than many 50 GPD designs (which often run 1:4).

The membrane element is 12 inches long with a 1.8‑inch diameter, conforming strictly to the 1812 industry standard. Its dry‑packed construction contains no glycerin or sodium bisulfite, so there is no sticky residue when you first open the package – simply insert, flush, and use.

Installation note: Flush the element for 60 minutes before first use. Use a 75‑GPD flow restrictor (approx. 350 mL/min drain flow) for optimal life.

Data measured under standard test conditions: 250 ppm NaCl, 60 psi, 25°C. Real output depends on feed water temperature and pressure.

Why This 75 GPD Membrane Is the Family Choice

  • No electrical work needed – Runs on typical tap pressure (As a low pressure RO membrane element supplier, we designed it for 55-65 psi water lines).
  • Quiet operation – No additional pump noise; the only sound is the normal drain water trickle.
  • Lower standing TDS in tank – Unlike 100+ GPD membranes, 75 GPD refills the storage tank at a moderate rate, giving the system time to flush away rejected salts, resulting in fresher-tasting water.
  • One-to-one replacement for most 50–75 GPD systems – This Replacement RO Membrane fits generic 1812 housings as well as name brands (AquaTru, Home Master, iSpring).
  • Visible output verification – The 75 GPD flow rate is easy to measure: about 0.2 liters per minute. You can quickly check performance with a stopwatch and a measuring cup.
  • As a domestic RO membrane 1812 manufacturer, we offer batch-test reports for every production lot, ensuring ±5% flow consistency.

Applications – Where 75 GPD Fits Best

  • Daily drinking and cooking water for a 4-member family
  • Office breakrooms with 10-15 daily users (combined with a small tank)
  • Refrigerator ice maker feed (75 GPD prevents freeze-up due to low flow)
  • Hydroponic nutrient water preparation for small indoor gardens

FAQ

1. Will this 75 GPD RO membrane for household water work if my tap pressure is only 45 psi?

It will produce less water – roughly 40‑50 GPD. At very low pressure, the rejection rate also drops slightly (e.g., from 97% to 93% at 40 psi). If your pressure is consistently below 50 psi, consider a booster pump to get full rated performance.

2. How long does the flushing take when I first install it? And how do I know flushing is complete?

Flush for at least one hour with the product water directed to the drain (not the tank). You will notice the water initially may look cloudy or have tiny bubbles – that is normal. Flushing is complete when the water runs clear and the TDS reading stabilizes (typically under 20 ppm if your tap water is <300 ppm).

3. What is the actual waste water ratio in a real installation?

With a proper 75 GPD restrictor and 60 psi feed, we measured 1.2‑1.5 liters of concentrate per liter of permeate. In cold water conditions (10°C), the ratio can rise to 2.0‑2.5:1 because the membrane becomes less efficient. Using a permeate pump can cut waste by 50‑60%.
