Product Details
High Purity Water EDI is designed for continuous ultrapure water production in industrial and pharmaceutical water treatment systems. The module combines ion exchange resin, selective ion exchange membranes, and electrically driven ion migration technology to remove residual ions from RO permeate water without using chemical regeneration processes. Continuous electrical regeneration inside the module allows stable deionization performance during long-term operation while reducing maintenance procedures associated with conventional ion exchange systems.

The system is commonly used in pharmaceutical purified water production, semiconductor process water treatment, laboratory ultrapure water systems, power plant deionized water applications, and food & beverage process water systems requiring high resistivity water quality. Hot water sanitizable models support thermal disinfection up to 85°C ±5°C and are compatible with high temperature sanitization procedures used in pharmaceutical water loops and hygienic process systems.

Core Operating Advantages
Continuous High Resistivity Water Production
The module continuously produces high purity water with product resistivity ranging from 15–18.25 MΩ·cm under standard operating conditions. The electrical regeneration process inside the EDI stack eliminates periodic shutdowns associated with mixed bed resin regeneration and supports stable water quality during continuous operation.

Thermal Sanitization Capability
HWS models are designed for repeated hot water sanitization cycles at 85°C ±5°C under operating pressure conditions up to 0.2 MPa. The internal membrane and resin structure are configured to withstand elevated temperatures used in pharmaceutical and biotechnology water systems where thermal microbial control procedures are required.
Reduced Chemical Consumption
Unlike conventional ion exchange systems, the EDI process operates without acid and caustic chemical regeneration. This reduces chemical storage requirements, minimizes wastewater neutralization demand, and simplifies routine operation within high purity water systems.

FAQ
1. How does TOC from the High Purity Water EDI compare to a mixed bed polisher?
Typical mixed bed polishers have TOC of 0.2‑0.5 ppm from resin leaching. The KXGW performs similarly or better, with the advantage of no chemical regeneration waste.
2.Do I still need a UV lamp after EDI?
For TOC below 10 ppb, yes – add a 185 nm UV oxidizer after the EDI. The KXGW reduces TOC to 0.2 ppm, but UV plus polishing resin takes it below 5 ppb.
3.How often does the module need to be replaced?
Under high purity feed conditions, service life is 4‑5 years. Resistivity gradually drops over time. When it falls below 17 MΩ·cm at rated current and feed quality, replace or send in for regeneration.
4.Can I use this for a lab water system with multiple draw points?
Yes. Size the model based on peak flow. For a typical lab with 20‑30 L/hour usage, the KXGW‑50 (500 L/h) is more than sufficient. Install a recirculation loop to maintain purity at all draw points
