With the widespread application of water purification equipment in the water treatment industry, reverse osmosis membranes are gradually gaining attention. The cost of reverse osmosis membranes is one of the most important concerns for consumers, and proper maintenance helps extend their lifespan.
After the equipment trial run, we use two methods to protect the reverse osmosis membrane. First, run the equipment for two days (15-24 hours), then maintain it with a 2% formaldehyde solution; second, run it for 2-6 hours, then maintain the reverse osmosis membrane with a 1% NaHSO3 aqueous solution (ensure all air is expelled from the equipment piping, there are no leaks, and all inlet and outlet valves are closed). Both methods yield satisfactory results. The first method is more expensive and should be used when there is a longer downtime, while the second method is used when there is a shorter downtime.
