In the electronics industry, EDI modules are used to prepare ultrapure water for chip cleaning, removing ions from the water. As of 2024, this technology has covered more than 90% of the pure water systems in photovoltaic panel production lines. In the power industry, it requires a reverse osmosis pretreatment unit to ensure the hardness of the incoming water.
In the medical field, injection water systems use enhanced EDI modules, employing a two-stage membrane stack design to achieve water quality meeting USP43-NF38 standards. In chemical production, EDI is used in conjunction with ultraviolet sterilization devices to achieve a high level of pure water microbial content per mL.
