GB/T 32373-2025, "Test Methods for Reverse Osmosis Membranes," is a significant technical standard replacing the 2015 version, marking a milestone in the field of reverse osmosis membrane performance evaluation. This standard expands its scope to include various membrane types, such as domestic, ultra-low pressure, low pressure, brackish water, and seawater desalination membranes. The standard specifies the test conditions for low-pressure reverse osmosis membranes: sodium chloride concentration 1500±20 mg/L, test pressure 1.03±0.02 MPa, and applicable water flux 20~25 L/(m²·h). Furthermore, the new standard adds three categories of fouling resistance tests, comprehensively improving the standard's applicability and advancement.
Industrial low-pressure membranes are widely used in general industrial water treatment. They are used for water supply, wastewater, and sewage treatment in various industries, including power, municipal, steel metallurgy, petrochemical, coal chemical, papermaking, food, and pharmaceutical. Among these, ultra-low pressure fouling-resistant reverse osmosis membranes are widely used in municipal water supply and seawater desalination pretreatment, significantly reducing operating energy consumption. In the preparation of electronic-grade ultrapure water, it can meet the stringent requirement of a water resistivity of 18.2 MΩ·cm, making it suitable for industries such as semiconductors.
