HUAMO has launched the BW2540/4040/8040 high-TDS seawater RO membrane series together with the LP-4040 low-pressure RO element, targeting industrial water purification and high-salinity water treatment applications. The new portfolio is developed to help system integrators, OEM manufacturers, and industrial end users build reliable and cost-effective reverse osmosis systems.
The BW2540, BW4040, and BW8040 membrane elements cover multiple standard configurations, allowing flexible system design for small, medium, and large RO units. These high-TDS RO membranes are engineered to remove dissolved salts, total dissolved solids (TDS), organic matter, colloids, and microorganisms from challenging feedwater sources. They are suitable for high-salinity water treatment, seawater desalination systems, brackish water desalination, and industrial process water purification when matched with appropriate pressure vessels, high-pressure pumps, and pre-treatment equipment.
The LP-4040 is a 4-inch low-pressure RO membrane element designed to operate at reduced feed pressure. This helps lower pump energy consumption and overall operating costs, making it suitable for brackish water purification, process water production, and industrial RO systems where energy efficiency is a key requirement. By combining high-TDS membrane elements with low-pressure elements, users can optimize salt rejection, permeate quality, energy use, and membrane service life.
Typical applications include industrial water purification, seawater and brackish water desalination, boiler feedwater treatment, cooling water make-up, power plants, chemical and petrochemical facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage processing, electronics production, mining water treatment, wastewater reuse, and remote water supply projects for islands, ships, hotels, and farms. The membranes are compatible with standard FRP pressure vessels and can be integrated into new or existing RO systems.
